The end of the summer term was given its very own soundtrack at two Northamptonshire schools this year! Working with a team of musicians from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and workshop leader Sam Mason, every single pupil at Risdene Academy and Warwick Primary School came together to give superb sun-drenched performances of brand new pieces inspired by their schools and studies.
At Warwick Primary School, parents and pupils were treated to a range of music and songs composed on the theme of African tales, from discovering How the Crane Got Its Crown to searching out their very own Gone Forever Tree. Through a combination of singing, using their own instruments and even ones they had picked up especially for the project, pupils learnt to explore these magical stories through music. One pupil even brought in their very own Kalimba (an African thumb piano) solely for these workshops.
